False Idol (band) is an American Hardcore Punk band that was formed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2022. [1] The founding members of the band were guitarist/vocalist Casey "CJ" Cook Jr., drummer Brady Moore, and bassist Emma Lang. In April 2023, the band officially began playing shows around Oklahoma, first debuting at the Grand Royale. [2] During this time, the band lineup changed with vocalist Jonathan Aguilar and back up vocalist/guitarist Owen Lewellen joined the band. [3] By June of the same year, Emma Lang departed the band and was later replaced by Breanna Caron as the new bassist that following July.
In August 2023, the band released their first single "Fake Friend". [4] Later that year, in October, "Toothache" was released. [5] During the beginning part of 2024, "Parasite" debuted to fans. [6] With three songs under their belt and wanting to continue the momentum, the band was proud to release their fourth original song "Fly Higher" on Spotify by June of 2024. [7]
In June of 2024, back up vocalist/guitarist Owen Lewellen departed the band. They were replaced by longtime collaborator Nathan Graeber.
