[1] The name of the company is Crafter Software Corporation and the name of the platform is CrafterCMS. As of 2024, company is headquartered in McLean, Virginia. [2]
Crafter Software Corporation was originally founded in 2013 and released first version of CrafterCMS in 2014. [3] [4] Since then, the platform has undergone continuous development and refinement, with regular updates and enhancements to meet the changing demands of the digital landscape. [5] [6] In 2019, Crafter partnered with Lighter Capital, receiving revenue-based debt investment, which resulted in rapid growth and profitability. Later in March 2022, they closed on a second institutional round of funding from Lighter Capital. [7] [8]
CrafterCMS version 4.0 was launched in June 2022, that introduced an experience builder for composing digital experiences, a Crafter Studio Content Authoring Application, and a plug-in framework with an expanded marketplace. [9] [10] [11] In February 2024, CrafterCMS announced expansion of marketplace with more than 60 plugins including an AI-plugin, that integrates ChatGPT from OpenAI to accelerate the content creation.
