Champlin worked as regional director of foundation and community relations at Lincoln Financial Group until 2018. Following his departure from Lincoln Financial Group, Champlin was appointed to the Board of directors of CATCH neighborhood housing. [1] During his 10 years on the Concord, New Hampshire city council, Champlin served as an At-large city councilor and a councilor for ward 4. [2] Champlin has also worked as a public relations officer at Colby–Sawyer College and a public information officer for the New Hampshire House of Representatives [3]
Champlin won the 2023 Concord mayoral election with 74% of the vote defeating customer service manager George Jack and Kate West. [4] During the campaign, Champlin and Jack participated in a debate where Champlin proposed an ice-breaker meeting of the City council and removing obstacles to serve on the city's diversity and belonging committee. [5] During his first State of the City address, Champlin announced his plan to address public safety, diversity, and housing. [6] Champlin denied a request for a resolution by former mayoral candidate Kate West that would support a ceasefire in the Israel–Hamas war [7]
