Ben Stenbeck (born February 2, 1976). [1] is a New Zealand comic book creator, primarily an artist. He has frequently collaborated with Mike Mignola in projects like Baltimore and the Hellboy Universe.
He started his comic book career in 2003 when he illustrated a short Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic book story in the anthology Tales of the Vampires for Dark Horse Comics [2]. After this, in 2008, he illustrated a B.P.R.D. One-shot titled "The Ectoplasmic Man" and the first Limited series of Sir Edward Grey: Witchfinder. He went on to take on artist duties for several Hellboy Universe projects, like Frankenstein Underground, Koshchei.
In 2010 he was picked by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden to illustrate a comic book adaptation of their novel Baltimore, or, The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire [3].
He published his first creator owned comic, Our Bones Dust ( Image Comics) in 2023 [4]
He also worked on films, being part of the design department of The Lord of the Rings movies The Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King. [5]. In 2005 he directed a short film called Zombie Movie [5]
