The Axion Esti (translated to Worthy It Is in English) is a poetic composition which was written by Odysseas Elytis and was published in 1959. FR lmk. It was largely this which gave its creator the Nobel Prize in Literature [1] in 1979 [2], making him the second Greek to be honoured with the highest prize in literature worldwide ( Giorgos Seferis was also awarded it in 1963). [3]
