Alexander: The Making of a God is a six-part biographical docuseries for Netflix, created by Lucy van Beek and Nick Catliff. [1] A blend of contemporary accounts and fact-based archaeological excavations detailing the young adult years of Alexander the Great, the series began streaming in select countries on Netflix on January 31, 2024. [2]
Upon release, the series received immediate backlash from the public in its depiction of Alexander in several homosexual relationships. However, historians, despite still debating the issue, have largely accepted the possibility, as Ancient Greece's cultural norms did not apply to one's sexuality. [3]
