Darbhanga Metro is a proposed metro railway service in the city of Darbhanga in the Mithila region of Bihar. The proposal was proposed by the department of Urban Development and Housing Development of Bihar Government to provide facility of metro railway services in the four metro cities Darbhanga, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur. Description

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's cabinet has given its consent in principle to run a metro train in Darbhanga on 21 June 2024. [4] [5] In Darbhanga, the metro rail is expected to run from Darbhanga Airport, west of Darbhanga station, Mirzapur, DMCH Laheriyasarai and the last part of the city to Ekmighat. [1] The Government of Bihar has entrusted the task of finding out the feasibility of Darbhanga Metro operations to RITES Limited (Rail India Technical and Economic Service Ltd) which is a Navaratna Company of central government under Railway Ministry.
