Clelia plumbea is widely distributed throughout Brazil and Paraguay, and can be found in the Amazon rainforest, Cerrado, and Atlantic Forest ecoregions. The type locality is from a small area north of Cabo Frio in the state of Rio de Janeiro. [1]
