José João de Jesus (born 17 December 1979), commonly known as Chicão, is a Brazilian former footballer.
Chicão played for a number of clubs in Brazil, most notably for Botafogo-SP in the 1999 and 2001 Brasileirao, [1] as well as the 2001 Campeonato Paulista final. [2]
Chicão was first arrested in 2002 on charges of accessory to murder, and was handed a 16-year sentence. [3] He was released from prison in 2010, having served eight years. [4] [5]
He was arrested again in 2011 for threatening people in public with a firearm. [1]
Chicão is the father of current Brighton & Hove Albion player João Pedro. [3]
