The Central District of Bonab County ( Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان بناب) is in East Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Bonab. [3]
At the 2006 census, its population was 125,209 in 31,921 households. [4] The following census in 2011 counted 129,795 people in 37,353 households. [5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 134,892 inhabitants living in 42,325 households. [2]
In August 2017, the village of Khusheh Mehr was elevated to the status of a city. [6]
