Brahim Merad (born 22 August 1953) is the Algerian Minister of Interior and Local Government. He was appointed as minister on 9 September 2022. [1] [2]
Merad graduated at the École nationale d'administration. [1] [3]
From 1995 until 1997, Merad was the wali of Annaba. He was also a wali in Tiaret, Boumerdes, Médéa and Tizi Ouzou. [4]
He also worked as advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of shadow areas. [3] [5] [6]
On 21 May 2021, Merad was appointed Mediator of the Republic. [7]
Since 9 September 2022, Merad has been the Minister of the Interior. [3] [8]
