Barvanan-e Gharbi Rural District ( Persian: دهستان بروانان غربي) [3] is in Torkamanchay District of Mianeh County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran. [4] Its capital is the village of Gharib Dust. [5]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population was 5,679 in 1,262 households. [6] There were 4,472 inhabitants in 1,279 households at the following census of 2011. [7] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 4,132 in 1,412 households. The most populous of its 22 villages was Kalhor, with 779 people. [2]
