Major General Ayub Chowdhury is a decorated veteran of Bangladesh Army. He was appointed as the Director General of Department of Immigration & Passports on 29 July 2020 replacing the incumbent, Major General Shakil Ahmed. [3] He paid homage to the mausoleum of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Gopalganj District after his appointment. [4] He retired from his active service in October 2022.
