13 February –16 Muslim insurgents are killed during an attack on a military base in

25 February - At least 4 people are dead and 20 injured after a homemade bomb is detonated at a Buddhist festival in
Maha Sarakham Province.[4]
28 February - Thailand agrees to peace talks with Muslim rebels for the first time after 20 years of conflict.[5]

2 March - Suspected insurgents detonate a motorcycle bomb in Southern Thailand killing 2 Thai Military rangers and wounding 11 people.[6]
28 July - Heavy rain causes 30 metres of the Uttamanusorn Bridge in Kanchanaburi province to collapse. The amount collapsed increases to 70 metres three days after.[13]
